چکیده

Background and Objectives: Extended-pulse dye lasers (EPDL) are commonly used to treat a variety of vascular lesions. This study evaluated whether differences in pulse formats and cooling methods might affect outcome in the treatment of small facial telangictasia. Study Design/Materials and Methods: Ten subjects presenting with symmetric, bilateral facial telangiectasia were studied. Each side of the face was treated with either the V-Star smart-cool air cooling (Cynosure, Inc.) (VS) or V-beam DCD cooling (Candela, Inc.) (VB) EPDL treatments with both systems were undertaken with a 10-milliseconds pulse duration, 1 J/cm below the purpuric threshold, with up to three passes. Results: Treatment clearance with the VS EPDL occurred with a lower fluence, using fewer passes than with the VB EPDL (P< 0.05). Conclusions: Although both the currently popular EPDL systems are highly effective in the treatment of small facial telangiectasia, clinical differences can be seen between these two systems. A Comparative Study Between 595-Nm Pulsed Dye Laser with Cutaneous Compression and Cryotherapy in the Treatment of Solar Lentigines

Background: Although cryotherapy is still the first-line therapy for solar lentigines, due to side effects such as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), especially in patients with darker skin types, pigment specific lasers should be considered as initial treatment. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of cryotherapy in comparison with 595-nm pulsed dye laser (PDL)...

Elucidating the pulsed-dye laser treatment of sebaceous hyperplasia in vivo with real-time confocal scanning laser microscopy.

BACKGROUND Several case reports document successful treatment of sebaceous hyperplasia with the pulsed-dye laser. Moreover, noninvasive real-time confocal laser scanning microscopy elucidates the vascular nature of these lesions and their pathophysiologic response to treatment mediated by vessel coagulation. METHODS Ten patients with 29 lesions of sebaceous hyperplasia were treated with 3 sta...

کاربردهای PDL) Pulsed Dye Laser) در درمان ضایعات غیرعروقی (1)

Pulse Dye Laser (PDL) is mainly used to treat vascular lesions but several studies performed in different research centers have shown the efficacy of this safe laser in the treatment of non-vascular lesions as well. The aim of this study was to review, sum up and summarize these studies.PDL is a known alternative for cryotherapy in the treatment of some viral lesions such as periungual warts an...

[Laser treatment of port wine stain].

Laser treatment of vascular skin lesions is rapidly improving. Port wine stain (PWS) is one of the first lesions successfully treated with laser. The pulsed dye laser (PDL) has been developed on the concept of selective photothermolysis and has revolutionized PWS treatment. Even though the response is variable, substantial blanching can be obtained after several sessions. Greater selectivity an...

980 nm diode lasers in oral and facial practice: current state of the science and art

AIM To evaluate the safety and efficacy of a 980 nm diode laser for the treatment of benign facial pigmented and vascular lesions, and in oral surgery. MATERIALS AND METHODS 20 patients were treated with a 980 nm diode laser. Oral surgery: 5 patients (5 upper and lower frenulectomy). Fluence levels were 5-15 J/cm(2); pulse lengths were 20-60 ms; spot size was 1 mm. Vascular lesions: 10 patien...
